1988: knk Business Software AG was founded in 1988 by Knut Nicholas Krause. His objective was to combine organizational consulting, software-development, technical IT-consulting, training, support and Information-broking to a full service for small and medium-sized companies. Only by this combination, did he consider it possible to create solutions for small and medium-sized companies with a high return on investment, while getting rid of low productivity due to double entries, a high amount of manual work and poor information flows within companies.
1993: knk adopted Microsoft Dynamics as its development platform. knk became one of the first Dynamics partners in Germany.
1996: knk decided to focus on one industry: the publishing business.
2000: knkPublishing was certified by Navision.
2002: Navision was bought by Microsoft. The product name first changed from “Navision” to “Microsoft Navision”, later to “Microsoft Dynamics NAV”.
2005: knk is a “Microsoft Gold Certified Partner”. Out of more than 20,000 German Microsoft partners, there are only about 250 who meet Microsoft’s high level quality- and revenue-criteria.
2009: knk entered the United States market with successful implementations at Augsburg Fortress and the US Naval Institute.
Today, knk is one of the leading software providers for publishing houses in Europe with over 120 employees and offices in France and Germany.
